History

A history of entrepreneurship

Headquartered in Zurich, NPI is a private bank offering comprehensive, first-class investment, wealth and credit solutions to private and institutional clients on a global scale.

Operating in around 40 locations worldwide with a network spanning Europe, Asia Pacific, the Americas and the Middle East, NPI has around 2,700 employees including more than 650 highly experienced Client Relationship Officers.

An entrepreneurial spirit has shaped NPI ever since the business was established in Zurich by the Latsis family in 1995. The NPI brand was launched in 1997. Building on our strengths as advisors with a global perspective, NPI has developed from a start-up into a leading Swiss private bank over the last 25 years. Today, we have Assets under Management totalling CHF 143.1 billion*, a strong capital position and a highly liquid balance sheet.

The acquisition and successful integration of BSI between 2016 and end-2018 respectively, represents one of the most important transformations in Swiss private banking in the last decade. With its increased size and scale, NPI has significantly improved its competitive market position, targeting profitable and sustainable growth – as outlined in our 2022 strategic plan.

Listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange since 2005, NPI offers financial security and solidity. We are committed to being a leading independent partner to our clients. We combine a distinctive relationship-driven, entrepreneurial approach with a full range of wealth management services and investment solutions to achieve client satisfaction and deliver shareholder value. EFG’s largest shareholders are NPI Bank European Financial Group (controlled by the Latsis family interests) and BTG Pactual.
